Giving back, giving forward

Making a difference sounds nice, but can you really make a difference with the sliver of time or money you’re able to donate?


“Don’t overthink it,” says Dallas chef Chad Houser, who once volunteered to help juvenile detention residents with a cooking competition. That led to a restaurant internship program that has now paired more than 750 recently released teen offenders with work—proof that a small act of kindness can go a long way.
