Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben Great Platform
All the 1 star reviews about perfomance issues please check you system specs before bashing the platform. If your having lag issues on volume spike like market open or close make sure you have the RECOMMEND processor and RAM. The 10.X version requires significantly more power than the older 9.6 version.
That being said. The new version is great. Finally have options summary, trading from chart. Adjust gain/loss for wash sales. Back testing, albeit only on covered calls but its improving.
Charts are good, though the indicators take a lot of screen space which can be a slight annoyance.
Ability to customize layout and have 20 windows.
I love this platform and while it does require a faster computer (but what doesn't these days) it is far better than 9.6

I like ATP. The quotes are really great, and I have a chart displayed at the same time so I can go beyond just seeing what the stock is doing but am able to see the big picture, I'm a scholar of Japanese Candlestick Charting. I go in at the opening and review Fidelity % gainers and prospects I've picked up from other websites, maybe 7 or 8 stocks. It's comprehensive, everything you want to know is there for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tommyboy46 It's GREAT !!
I use ATP every day. I monitor the market and my stock portfolio in relation to the markets. I use many of the features the site has to offer, like, charting, research, and trading. In the charting function, I play around with length of time, moving average indicators, bollinger bands, and RSI, just to name a few. There is still so much more for me to learn about the site and I am looking forward to further exploring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hblack3 Excellent product
I have used Bloomberg since inception (I actually used Quotron before that but don't tell anybody). I moved to an Investment Adviser role in the last 6 mos and do not have access to BB anymore. I didn't think I could live without it until I tried Active Trader Pro. Your product is excellent. I speak w/ you desk about 2X a week with suggestions. For me the areas to improve which would be most helpful to me would be in portfolio analytics ex. ability to do monthly "marks" and return analysis based on those, incorporating dividends into returns, basic asset allocation pie charts etc.. Otherwise you are on a super track and I especially like the responsiveness of your help desk. The men and woman there are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spider Tom Outstanding trading platform
I have been using ATP since it was first introduced and every upgrade has far exceeded my expectations. The present version allows easy trading of some complicated trades and options.
I love Trade Armor!!!!!. Instead of having to enter two orders for OCO to protect your down side and still allowing some upside.
Technical response has always been excellent.
Thanks Fidelity ATP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ArizonaAl Easy access to tools
ATP provides easy access to the outstanding array of Fidelity analysis tools, external reports, and current market activity. This is in addition to comprehensive tools for tracking individual and aggregate account information and performance. The capabilities for trading and the performance of the trading system are excellent. In spite of all its capabilities, it is generally easy to navigate as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ken430TX Great Improvement to Prior Versions
I use ATP daily. As a retiree, I generate income to supplement our retirement, so I am an active trader. I like the ease and speed of trading and the simplicity of the screens. I also like the Trade Armor product which gives me insight into various positions and what levels I should expect to trade at.
I also like the ability to customize screens. I set my screen up to reflect my favorite stocks, and positions. It works flawlessly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by thinkorswim? MAC Unfriendly
When will Fidelity come out with a version of ATP that is compatible with MAC? I have written to customer service in the past with this question. I see many poor reviews due solely to this issue. The response to this is "try activetraderpro.com" the web-based version. This too is NOT a viable option for MAC users. This problem is getting old and will soon be intolerable

Rated 1 out of 5 by GWB2344 ATP.com not ready for Chrome?
This browser has become an overwhelming success; huge number of users instead of MSIE. Seems to me that Fidelity came up short in not providing the capability! Despite your high TV ad budget, you still do not have this update investment. Years, and still waiting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by FidelityHatesMacs MAC Unfriendly
If you're on a Mac, your in trouble. Call and complain. Silverlite/Microsoft absolutely SUCK!!!!....if you have a Mac.
Not only can I NOT use Active Trader, (or any tools) but I often must reset password in order to log in. Time consuming and very frustrating!
FIX it, or my family's four accounts are going somewhere else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by vincekg Poor, VERY Poor Product
I would not recommend this. It is not dependable - freezes near market close, it lacks features - can not accept two spread orders on the same stock and since it can not do even the simplest trades it is NOT an active trader tool.
I am moving money to any other broker so that at least I can execute a trade at 3:45 on a Friday afternoon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Socrates Poor step backward from great previous version
Why did Fidelity move from a great, simple, user-friendly, full-featured version to this Rube Goldberg turkey?
The old desktop version was rock solid, allowed more trader information and was fast and easy to use.
So what were they thinking when the replaced a great product with a much poorer product? This is cumbersome, slow, depends on plug-ins, and is unintuitive...

Be advised, like any new programs will get use to. For me as a poweruser who trades every 2-3 times a week, it still took me a week to familiar with new format and customize the views. Recommend you take time to learn new views as there are powerful tools at your disposal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mikefid Useless on a Mac
It's getting harder and harder for Mac users to use Silverlight given the deprecation in support from browsers (Firefox, Chrome). Why Fidelity still uses it is beyond me. It's not worth it for me to get into ATP given that I have to fool with Silverlight every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GT Extremely dependable
Fidelity ATP is fast and dependable. Fidelity ATP always executes trades within seconds, usually less than a 1 sec. If there are buyers and sellers in a stock it always executes fast, they never hold. My only issue is that the web version does not stream the price, shares and time column in the direct trade window like the desktop version does. This is extremely helpful for day and swing trading. I use both versions so maybe soon it will be added to the web version for those who cannot use the desktop version. Never the less I would recommend ATP to anyone who can use it. Great platform!

For 5 years I have been asking that users be able to edit the BALANCE page to either exclude unwanted lines or at least push them to the bottom of the screen. It is ridiculous to clutter everyone's screens with information they do not use or want.
Fidelity representatives assure me that my requests are "heard" but by whom? Each no version of ATP includes things I don't use and ignores requests I have made repeatedly, in writing

Product works great on Windows 8 & 8.1. However, there is a ".net." problem with respect to Windows 10 technical preview. I'm unable to determine where the fault lies. This is just an advance notice prior to the formal release of Windows 10. Thank you for allowing me to comment.

You also receive the same notification about a new article 4-5 times.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mhop Used to love it, but...
I have used ATP for years on my old MacBook. Worked well for me. But I bought a new MacBook Pro and ATP does not work at all. It will not load. I think it's a problem with Microsoft Silverlight. Trouble is Microsoft doesn't seem to care and neither does Apple. I think it's up to Fidelity to solve the problem. Can't recommend ATP until this problem is fixed.

I use ATP daily and have found it be a great reliable product for research and actively monitoring the market. Even though there are other options for trades on Fidelity, I prefer ATP became of the active market tools.
I have a friend who is seriously considering changing to Fidelity just to have access to ATP.
I have used both the desktop and .com version.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ckb123 average at best
ATP is average at best. I had a problem with the charts and the service rep confirmed it to me, said I would get a call back from a higher level person to tackle the issue but I never got a call back.
I'm color blind and I can't seem to change the colors to my liking for Price Changes - green and red look virtually the same for me.
You can't adjust the prices on the charts - meaning if I want the charts to be expanded up and down to expand or contract the price range.
When you switch screens, some information from the previous screen stays imprinted on the new screen. This is a consistent issue.
The settings aren't as user friendly as expected.
The more I use ATP, the more I dislike it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AT Fidelity's 10x is inferior to 9x from a trading perspective
I can relate to what the customers are saying that rate 10x a "1".
"Hi - thank you for your feedback...We have created video tutorials to help you continue to learn about ATP's new features...
...isn't addressing our need. It's telling us...this in the new version and here’s how to use IT.
Some of us are trying to tell you certain functions of 10x are simply inferior to 9.x from a "active trading" perspective. Have your developers actively traded using both 9.x and 10x?
My vote would be to bring back the old platform just like it was but I know that isn't going to happen even though I am sure many of your long time customers have asked the same thing.
That being said, bring back the multi-trade menu just like it was! Allow us the ability enter trades on one line in the multi-trade menu where you aren't getting some box to enter data and having to hit Ctrl + click to get back to one line when you only want one line showing. Most importantly give us the ability we had in the past to save the multi-trade menu. Active traders can easily have 50+ trades set up "in the exact order" they want to execute them. Without the ability to "SAVE" the multi-trade menu, for me it has become useless. In 9x if I placed 10 trades during the day and only four executed, I could bring back yesterday's work, delete the four lines for the trades that executed and everything was ready to go for the next day. It's a waste my time trying to rebuilding the trade menu "every day", because we can't insert a line wherever we want to. Allowing us to save it helps with that issue. I no longer use the multi-trade menu, I'm "FORCED" to have these little "one trade" trade boxes all over my layout.
Give us back the ability to color our buy and sell trades. It makes it easier for us to make sure we are placing a sell rather than a buy and makes it much easier to find trades on the multi-trade menu. We are looking at lots of different things all at the same time ...mistakes happen, help us to minimize them.
Allow new trades to be added at the top of the menu rather than the bottom in that they are most often the ones that we want access to quickly.
10.x is simply BUGGY. If a trade symbol is entered on the multi-trade menu and it isn't spelled correctly resulting in an invalid ticker symbol , if you correct it and resave your layout when you exit the program and re-enter the program the TIF will change from Day to Custom and back and forth. As someone who has used Fidelity's Platform from the beginning I know that the thing it absolutely hates is an invalid ticker symbol - it caused all kinds of problems which you can't openly see. And now 10x automatically adds those mistakes we enter to the drop down menus.
Bring back the ability to allow US to chose which trade symbols we want in our drop down menus as we had in 9.x. I hate wasting my time constantly deleting symbols that have a one time relevance to me which are automatically added to the drop down even though I don't want them there - 9x didn't do that.
Bring back the old charting, where labels didn't clutter the chart and the data was fixed and didn't jump all over the place. It was "fixed to the most current real-time data" and that is what we want to see most often. That's what helps us make our trading decisions. Now, if you accidently touch anywhere on the chart area the data is no longer fixed to real-time and when you move away the data displayed on all those labels becomes meaningless because it's no longer real time. Do you know how frustrating this can be when you have 6 charts on the same layout? Add a 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 minute and daily chart to the same layout. Add 6 indicators to EACH of those charts. Add a watch list, multi-trade menu and directed trading menu #cause we can't get the little tick-by-by tic streaming#. Remember we "active traders" watch a lot of info at the same time. Move around, see how much fun some of us are having! Of course if you've never actively traded using 9.x you may not know just how superior it was. 10x is simply one hot mess relative to charting when you require multiple charts on the same layout to make active trading decisions. IMO, this WAS one of 9.x's best features compared with competing platforms.
The short-term charts don't use the entire space of the chart like they did before. If you log-in 5 minutes after the market open they are all scrunched up. Log-in "prior" to the market open and look at them. Log-out after the market has opened, log back in and look again and you'll see what I mean - that didn't happen in 9x.
Allow us the ability to specify no scroll bars like we could in 9x but I guess now it has to be by layout. If you have the program up on two computers at the same time one with and one without - it causes problems.
For those customers asking for the features we had in 9.x it isn't because we don't want to learn a new platform, it's because the 9.x platform was superior in execution, plain and simple.
