Investment Options for Fidelity Freedom Lifetime Income®
Fidelity Freedom Lifetime Income® (FFLI) is an immediate variable income annuity that converts a portion of your savings into lifetime income.
You have access to automatic diversification1 and professional money management from the experts at Fidelity. Choose one of these Variable Insurance Product (VIP) single-fund solutions:
Choose by risk tolerance.2
These portfolios are designed for investors looking for a professionally managed, diversified investment solution that normally invests according to a specific target asset allocation.
Choose by your year of birth.3
Choose a portfolio based on your birth year. Each portfolio's asset allocation strategy becomes increasingly conservative over time as it approaches its ultimate target asset allocation (except for Fidelity VIP Investor Freedom IncomeSM).
With all funds available in FFLI, principal invested is not guaranteed at any time, including at or after the funds' ultimate target asset allocation.
Choose a portfolio for your FFLI annuity that fits your tolerance for risk—we choose the investments.
One of our risk-based portfolios may be a good choice for you if:
- You want to align your FFLI investment with a target asset allocation.
- You want exposure to multiple asset classes in a single investment.

A retirement income investment solution made simple
One of our age-based portfolios may be a good choice for your FFLI assets if:
- You'd like your FFLI investment allocation to automatically "roll down", or gradually become more conservative over time.
- You want exposure to multiple asset classes in a single investment.2
|About your age-based choices||
Choose the portfolio that best corresponds to your year of birth:
|What they invest in
Each portfolio is a diversified mix of Fidelity VIP domestic equity and international equity funds, bonds, and short-term funds.
Each portfolio's asset allocation becomes increasingly conservative until it reaches an ultimate target allocation. As with all funds available in FFLI, principal invested is not guaranteed at any time, including at or after the funds' ultimate target asset allocation.
|How they are managed||
Fidelity handles the asset allocation and investment decisions and manages the roll-down over the time period chosen using a proprietary approach.
