Rated 5 out of 5 by Reliable and beneficial I love this card! I use it for everything I purchase......I rarely pay cash for anything. As a result I am building a nice cushion in the Fidelity Rewards American Express account. I cancelled my other American Express card because it had an annual fee and I found this card to be much more of an asset. January 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Card To Use I have been using this as my primary card for over 2 years now. I even have my utilites linked to it and have had great customer sevice. They sent me a new card automatically when it was used prior to the Home Depot hack. The auto deposit of the monthly rewards into Fidelity is nice since others make you do it manually in order to receive them. This gives you a tax free 2% discount on anything you buy - even Starbucks! December 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it Great card, use it for 95% of my expenses. Also I like the integration to my Fidelity accounts for statements, transactions and paying bills. December 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Card I use this card for everything. Where else are you going to get a full 2% back on EVERYTHING without jumping through hoops like other card companies make you do? I like CASH BACK. Rewards can be sent automatically to my brokerage account. The only downside is that about 10% of merchants won't accept AmEx cards so you will need a back up card like MC or Visa, but you should always carry a back up card or two anyway. November 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Card I can't find a card to beat this one. It is also linked to your account to make rewards available easily. 2% cash back with no annual fee. We get hundreds back per year on our "green card". Go Fidelity August 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The very best card for me. This is THE credit card for those of us who want the best rebates with no hassle. This has been my "go to" card for almost two years now and I recommend it without equivocation. No quarterly categories, no requesting rebates, no limits, no fees, no problems. The fact that it is AMEX rather than VISA or M/C has not been a problem. Only once in two years have I tried to use it in a store that did not take AMEX. A 99 cent store, of all places. If you're considering a new card, go for this one. March 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simple Cash Back This card is a simple way to earn cash back without having to keep track of gimmicks. Every purchase gets 2% back deposited directly into your Fidelity account. It's that simple. There's no need to keep track of what points are worth or whether it's better to buy gas or groceries this month. March 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best credit card program out there. Airline reward cards can be a hassle with their restrictions and odd exchange rates for points. A straight forward 2% cash savings on ALL charges is a good deal. Surprisingly, even some low mark-up box stores take it exclusively. December 29, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by misleading.... After using the card and trying to redeem my points I am disappointed because I feel have been mislead. It clearly says 2% cash back. It does not live up to that, if you want cash it translates to 1%, not 2%. This is obfuscated by a complicated redeeming mechanism and it appears most users in their reviews didn't pick up on this and apparently believe they received 2% - that leads me to wonder whether that is the whole purpose of the redemption program complexity! I'm disappointed with Fidelity, this is not straight forward and I find it borders on fraud. How is it 2% cash back if you have to redeem for frequent flyer miles or other none-cash vehicles to receive 2%. The cash back value is only 1%. This is bs intended to mislead the consumer... and apparently it works. It is a 1% cash back card and that would be average, that's what my credit union gives me - I subtract a point for the bs as I already had a 1% cash back card and wouldn't have gone through the effort. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Experience So Far (6 months) I haven't had any issues using the card, and reward points are accumulating as expected. The only thing missing is being able to see what transaction is done by which authorized user, which is not available on the website nor statements. August 4, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Confusing accounting of points I find the explanations and accounting of points earned to be opaque. Plain language would help. August 3, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not what you expect from Fidelity or AMEX Fidelity and American Express both have industry leading customer service. Their websites are well thought out. Information is easy to find. When a call to customer service is necessary the phone system is expedient. The service representative is top notch. Prior positive experience framed my expectations for a green Fidelity card with a blue AMEX square in the bottom. But the experience with this card is consistently very bad. The card website is bad. The card is not integrated to the American Express website with my other AMEX cards. A call to customer service is painful because the call is routed to a third party card services firm that is marginal at best. August 3, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Monthly transfer of points still not working The ONLY time I received reward points was the time I called and 58 points were transferred immediately. No points have been transferred "automatically" since then. I'm getting ready to call again to have these points transferred as they should be monthly. Fidelity credit cards needs to improve their automated rewards points transfer service in order to receive a better recommendation from me. August 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Card I have used this card for several years now. The 2% and no annual fee is wonderful of course. I do not carry a balance. Recently, someone stole my card information and charged over 10k illegally. Fidelity AMEX handled the situation professionally and credited my account with the defrauded transactions as they were identified. Great Service! Great Benefits! August 2, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by customer service poor at best Fidelity as a company has excellent customer service, however this branded credit card has terrible service. I charge over 50k per month consistently and when they thought there was an unusual charge on my account - they shut it down without notifying me. The automatic bill payments i had set up all started bouncing, I went to pay for dinner and the waiter had to tell me and my guest that my card had been declined, it was a humiliation and a nightmare to explain to everyone. When i asked why they did not call me, they said they had way too much fraud going on to call every customer. July 31, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mostly Excellent Unable to determine if my autopay to my FIA credit card has been established or not. I tried to set it up 2-3 months ago, but can't find that it's in effect. July 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by secure Excellent services. Interaction with Fideity account was difficult at best July 29, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good value, but service is terrible This card has good value, but the online service to manage the account is terrible. I was expecting the same level of service as regular American Express cards, but this card has a very inadequate and minimal internet site for managing the card. Functionality is extremely limited (no search, no ability to activate a new card online, very limited sorting, no transaction inquiry function, etc.) and very disappointing. It feels like the website's level of functionality and usefulness were the norm back in the 1990's. Also the card is not supported on ApplePay yet, which is disappointing for such a mainstream card. Very disappointed. July 24, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Great deal horrible service I have used this card for years and it is great to build up a 529 balance. Unfortunately our card is now shut off every few times we get gas or groceries even when only a few miles from home at stores we frequent. There was a point when I would get a call when this happened but things have gotten so bad I now cannot even get through to customer service when the card is declined. No notice from them at all and no ability to speak to a person due to constant high call volume. Hard to stick with something when it just will not work. July 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Account Should Link Better with out a PW Account should link better without having to enter an additional password. July 20, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Service I have had similar poor service issues as noted by others. My card was frauded, and I was told twice that cards would be expedited overnight. The first set was sent via ground mail. Then the second attempt was to go to a hotel where I was vacationing in Mexico. I was promised the cards would arrive prior to check-in. I stayed a week, and the cards never arrived. Fortunately I had brought another brand of card. Finally after requesting a supervisor, they expedited my third set of replacement cards. In addition, we routinely get non-approval on cards as others have noted which is another reason to carry a real American Express card. I like the 2% back, but I am so frustrated that I am going to find another cash back card. July 20, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dragging You Down Dear Fidelity... Do yourselves a favor and find someone else to issue your AMEX bank card. FIA services is dragging your name and reputation into the dirt. What good is cash back when you can't even use the card due to shutdowns for "suspicious" activity? Really? Shopping at the local Walmart (that my wife and I frequent several times/week) because it was 5am? Buying $1.49 of postage at my local USPS? Really, please, please find someone else. It is embarrassing to hold > $1M in investments @ Fidelity and be declined for attempting to buy $39.12 worth of food at a Walmart... July 19, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor security algorithm drives cancelled cards with no alerts! Received my seventh FIA Amex card in the last two years due to their overly sensitive security concerns. I can understood two canceled cards were for someone duplicating my card for a very unusual and out of state transaction that FIA computers wisely declined. But the other four canceled cards were their fear that someone might have my account information. In every case I was surprised at the checkout line without any alerting phone call / text message. The customer service call times are long as I normally spend 30 minutes with tier one FIA customer service and when I escalate to tier two its another 20 minutes. They won’t make any exceptions to what the computer algorithm determines. I thought my remedy to poor satisfaction was to cancel and switch to Fidelity’s Visa, but their customers satisfaction reports are worst and shows FIA is the problem with no consequences from Amex nor Fidelity for creating this poor impression. July 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Card I have this card for many years. The points for cash-back add up very fast when it is double the points for every dollar. Very please and happy with the service as well. No complaint here! July 14, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Rejected multiple times We signed up for this card a couple months ago and things were fine, for a while. We travelled outside our state this past weekend and the rejections piled up. When I called the toll free number on the back, it took quite a while before a live person came on. They told us that since we were outside our normal travel area that our credit card was blocked for suspicious activity. I think they want us to tell them every time we go on a trip. Seriously. What kind of credit card requires that level of notification. Seems like FIA wants to cover their rear instead of providing decent service to their cardholders. July 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Card, Not Perfect I love getting 2% back. I don't like having a high threshold before I can cash in on it. AmEx accepted less places than other cards - I often have to use another card. Overall, very good. July 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by review Great card, many merchants do not accept it. Takes two day to pay. July 8, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Is this really American Express your dealing with? Both I and my mother got this card for the 2% return verified on the Fidelity site today. The Fidelity AMEX site shows only 1%. It even has a chart that shows the cash reward for Fidelity (1%) vs other bank accounts at .5%. Every month since getting this card there have been issues for both of us with different states and mailing addresses. I had fraudulent charges on my card (first ever in my life) and she has had many mailing errors. Attempts to resolve these problems were handled with courtesy but communication was real poor with followup. My mothers called and paid with her bank account one month, they got the account number wrong but it still processed and 6 days later it was rejected with no notice to her other than a mailed late payment notice. After dealing with 5 different credit cards I must say the group handling this is the worst I have dealt with for quality and security. Even the fact that you cannot pay your bill automatically as with other cards leaves one wondering. She is cancelling her card and I will probably be close behind... July 8, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Unhappy camper i signed up for the card for the great cash back value prop. When I signed up there was a promo for 0%apr on purchases for one year. There was some system update in Feb and somehow my promo specifics were erased. I have submitted a request to review over the phone but have yet to hear back. As a result, I have not even activated my reissued card and do not plan to as a result. Very unhappy. I have written notes but can't locate any formal promo documentation. I had read reviews of shady and poor customer service and I'm feeling that now. Also the web UI and functionality is severely lacking in comparison to the market waterline. July 8, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Protecting FIA, not customers Have had about 5% of store use attempts declined. Calling FIA leads to same script each time- "are you traveling, is this your regular store,..." Charges have been as low as $7. Security screening is deeply flawed- far more interested in avoiding their having to process a chargeback than in providing customer convenience. I was with AMEX for 40 years with worldwide use and NEVER experienced this kind of problem. FIA is **NOT** AMEX or in AMEX's class. Considering dumping this card- the rebate is not worth the inconvenience, delays, and embarrassment. This card is a stain on Fidelity's reputation, in my opinion. July 4, 2015
