I love this card! I use it for everything I purchase......I rarely pay cash for anything. As a result I am building a nice cushion in the Fidelity Rewards American Express account. I cancelled my other American Express card because it had an annual fee and I found this card to be much more of an asset.

I have been using this as my primary card for over 2 years now. I even have my utilites linked to it and have had great customer sevice. They sent me a new card automatically when it was used prior to the Home Depot hack. The auto deposit of the monthly rewards into Fidelity is nice since others make you do it manually in order to receive them. This gives you a tax free 2% discount on anything you buy - even Starbucks!

I use this card for everything.
Where else are you going to get a full 2% back on EVERYTHING without jumping through hoops like other card companies make you do? I like CASH BACK.
Rewards can be sent automatically to my brokerage account. The only downside is that about 10% of merchants won't accept AmEx cards so you will need a back up card like MC or Visa, but you should always carry a back up card or two anyway.

I can't find a card to beat this one. It is also linked to your account to make rewards available easily. 2% cash back with no annual fee. We get hundreds back per year on our "green card". Go Fidelity

This is THE credit card for those of us who want the best rebates with no hassle. This has been my "go to" card for almost two years now and I recommend it without equivocation. No quarterly categories, no requesting rebates, no limits, no fees, no problems. The fact that it is AMEX rather than VISA or M/C has not been a problem. Only once in two years have I tried to use it in a store that did not take AMEX. A 99 cent store, of all places.
If you're considering a new card, go for this one.

This card is a simple way to earn cash back without having to keep track of gimmicks. Every purchase gets 2% back deposited directly into your Fidelity account. It's that simple. There's no need to keep track of what points are worth or whether it's better to buy gas or groceries this month.

Airline reward cards can be a hassle with their restrictions and odd exchange rates for points. A straight forward 2% cash savings on ALL charges is a good deal. Surprisingly, even some low mark-up box stores take it exclusively.

Not a true AMEX card but serviced by FIA. Terrible customer service, no apps and still do not understand how I earn my 2% cash back,
Also not usable by Apple pay.

A fraudulent charge led to cancellation without any offer to send a prompt replacement. In addition, it still does not work with Apple Pay! Very disappointed in both Fidelity and American Express. Not what I expected.

There are all kind of schemes to get a person to use a particular credit card. Unless you like frivolous benefits you are not getting much.

The problem us not with the card, but with the issuer FIA Card Services. 1) it is not affiliated with Apple Pay, which I prefer to use when available both for convenience and security of information reasons, and 2) it does not have a notification system for charges to the card over a set amount. For security purposes, my other cards are set up to text me when a charge is made in excess of an amount that I set. I have had cards "hacked" previously and consider this to be a pretty basic service. I would encourage Fidelity to either change the issuer of its branded card or require a major upgrade in the level of service offered by FIA, which frankly is very limited.

FIA Card Services Fraud Department often causes this card to be rejected. I was recently given the direct number to the fraud department for the next time it happens. It was recently declined at the pump but FIA said there was not a problem. Two percent back is nice but the card is a real pain. I'm looking for alternatives.

This card is a joke can't believe it's a fidelity and an American express card. This is a FIA run card that is so antiquated and wrist customer service. IT IS NOT AN AMERICAN EXPRESS OR FIDELITY RUN CARD!

This card is a great deal and I have been using it for about 2 years for most of my purchases. Then, starting in 2015, they started randomly refusing certain payments claiming they were concerned about security. So I never know what they are going to pay and what they will refuse. Sometimes they refuse new merchants but sometimes recurring bills like Verizon Wireless. I think FIA Card Services pays back so much to Fidelity that they want me to cancel the card.

I pay my charges online through the FIA webpage. I go online and look at my full balance (not just the statement balance), and try to pay that. Nearly every time I do that FIA ends up taking a different amount than what I specify that I wish to pay. This causes me to go back to my bank account every month and readjust my balances because FIA didn't take out what I asked them to take. I want a card that does things MY way, not theirs.

The AMEX Fidelity card provides an excellent reward program and links well with my Fidelity account.
Two suggestions to improve:
1. Make card compatible with ApplePay
2. As with other AMEX products there are some merchants who do not accept - need to broaden the merchant base

I've used this card for several years and without a hitch. I travel quite a bit overseas and never had an issue (just call FIA Services first to ensure the card is 'turned on' for where you are going). The one time I forgot to call before I traveled to the UK - FIA called me within 2 mins on my cell from the time my transaction was declined. I was still standing with the merchant (the hotel I was checking into) and we resolved the whole thing in a few mins. Overall a great card.

Had this card for 6 years, just had to pay a late fee and interest because they said they received my check ONE day late. I sent it with plenty of time, pay my bill in full every month. The customer service rep could have cared less. His attitude put me over the edge.

Opened the account to have deposits go into a 529 plan. I think deposits should be made to the account on the same date every month regardless of how much was charged on the card. After the initial amount was attained to start making the deposits, I thought deposits would be made monthly.

I am so happy with my card that I have already gotten my brother and sister to get their own. I like being able to earn money for investing while spending money. The website is very easily to use and the customer service representatives are very helpful and friendly. I have nothing bad to say about this card whatsoever. I love it!!!

The value of this card is unsurpassed which is why I continue to use it. But it is frustrating when AmEx is not taken at so many places. I have been extremely frustrated by the card services, enough so that I'm considering changing cards from Fidelity altogether. I wait on hold for a really long time most times that I call, when there is fraud replacement cards are weeks in coming (when competitor cards come in a couple of business days), ordering cards for husband on my account also has taken weeks and we still haven't received it! It's like Fidelity isn't used to operating credit cards and is only making a small effort, whereas other credit card companies excel at be great at card services and that is a selling point. I would reconsider the business model. Even though there is great value in using this card, I'm extremely frustrated with card services every time I have a need to work with them.

First, pay off your balance every month. If you are not willing or not able to do this, don't read the rest of this review. If you pay it off every month, then make money paying your ordinary bills. Pay your cell phone, car insurance, homeowners insurance, utility bills, cable TV, life insurance, groceries, gas, (everything) with this card. Deposit the 2% into a 529 account for your kids, and depending on your State, you get a State tax deduction for that deposit! These people are VERY careful about unauthorized charges! They call to verify every time you are out of town, or have a significant amount to a new payee. It is a bit of a pain, but that is the price we pay in todays world.

I have had this card now for just a few weeks and am frustrated beyond belief. My card was locked due to "suspicious activity" - typical for new cards, however, it is impossible to get through on the 24/7/365 customer service line to try to get it unlocked. I have waited on hold for 45 minutes twice in the past 3 days before having to give up. They don't seem to care enough about their customers to answer the phone and thereby keep their customers from using the card. I will give them one more chance and if I wait like this again I will be shredding my card. Not worth the hassle. The 2% cash back is great if you can actually use the card and if you reach anyone there.

I have had this card for 4 or so years and in the last year the number of times I have been declined due to possible fraud has gone up 10x. I get that there are checks in the system to prevent fraud but I get declined for regular purchase activity every other month. On top of that if it were easy to validate the charges I would be totally fine answering a text or using an App but instead I have to call for 15 minutes each time, answer 6 security questions and then finally use my card again. Its just too much hassle. I would love to know if this is an AMEX issue, Fidelity or FIA Card Services. I need a simpler solution to use it as a primary card.

The cash back is a great deal. The customer service is is a bit lacking in that you always need to talk to 2 different departments and the other one is always closed causing you to call back the next day.
2 major issues over the past two months:
1.) FIA was undergoing server maintenance when my payment was being processed. The payment was rejected and I was assessed a $25 fee for this. I called and go everything straightened out and the fee was returned. The customer service call was two days in the making.
2.) This months payment was made on the 20th with a due date of the 21st. I logged into my account the account was listed as overdue and a fee was assessed. Just got off the phone with a very helpful lady who did all she could but I will have to call back in the morning to get things sorted out.
I'm Canceling it in the morning.

I got this card because the 'cash back' would help fund one of my Fidelity accounts. Ease of use has been average, no different than other cards. However, the customer service has been terrible:
- I contacted them when an item ordered online proved to be defective. They wanted me to take the item (which had already been returned to the merchant) to another merchant to get written documentation of the defect!
- they declined an in-person merchant charge. I called customer service to find out why, had to deal with the automated system that told me no live help was available and to call back later. I thought that problem was cleared up (based on statements from the automated system), but found out a week later that it was not.
- a subsequent charge was declined, that's when I found out that their 'automated system' had been calling me to discuss the first problem. However, that 'automated system' never leaves a message, and nothing is sent by email or postal mail. I spent more than an 30 minutes on the phone, getting transferred between departments, to get the whole story.
This is by far the worst customer experience in my 35+ years of credit card use, and it is certainly NOT what I'd expect from either American Express or Fidelity. I'll use another card with better customer support.
