You can open a Fidelity Crypto® IRA if you’re a US citizen over the age of 18 and reside in a state where Fidelity Digital Assets® can serve customers. Fidelity Crypto® for IRAs isn’t available in California or Oregon.

Are crypto services available in all states?
Fidelity Digital Assets® provides custody and trading of cryptocurrencies in Fidelity Crypto® accounts and Fidelity Crypto® IRAs in the U.S. with a few exceptions. Fidelity Crypto® for IRAs currently isn't available in California or Oregon, and customers in Oregon can't buy, sell, or deposit solana (SOL). Fidelity Crypto® and Fidelity Crypto® for IRAs currently aren't available in Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside the U.S.

You can open an individual Fidelity Crypto® account or a joint account with 2 individual owners.

Fidelity Digital Assets® doesn't charge fees for holding cryptocurrencies in Fidelity Crypto® accounts or Fidelity Crypto® IRAs.

What are the fees for trading crypto?
Fidelity Digital Assets® charges a 1% fee for buy and sell transactions in Fidelity Crypto® accounts and Fidelity Crypto® IRAs. If you have an account through Fidelity Crypto® for Wealth Managers, review your customer agreement and contact your advisor or intermediary for details. Fees are subject to change.

You can open up to 6 Fidelity Crypto® IRAs, and each must be linked to its own Fidelity brokerage IRA.

Can I open a Fidelity Crypto® account with a non-Fidelity advisor?
If your advisor uses Fidelity Crypto® for Wealth Managers, contact your advisor to open your Fidelity Crypto® account. You’ll receive an email with instructions to open a Fidelity Crypto® account managed by your advisor, including a specific link and QR code.

Who can help with a Fidelity Crypto® account that was opened by my advisor?
Only your financial advisor can help with your Fidelity Crypto® account and provide specific information about your accounts, fees, and trades. Please refer to the Fidelity Crypto® for Wealth Managers Customer Agreement, accessible through the Fidelity Crypto Agreements & Disclosures in your account profile on the Fidelity Investments® app and at the bottom of the account page on Fidelity.com.
