Frequently asked questions

  • Why am I being reissued a new Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature card?
    • Cards are being reissued to accounts that have a joint owner and/or authorized user(s). Each card will have a unique card number. This allows you to share your line of credit, access new account management tools, and establish spend limits. Your new cards will have a new look, with the same security and features you’re already enjoying.
    • Accounts without a joint owner and/or authorized user(s) will not need to be reissued as part of this process.
  • When will I receive my new card(s)?

We'll notify you when your cards ship and provide activation instructions. For security reasons, all cards, regardless of the user's relationship to the primary owner, will be sent to the mailing address listed on the credit card account.

  • I didn't receive a reissued credit card. What should I do?

We'll send an email to let you know when your reissued cards have shipped. If you haven't received your reissued cards within 7 business days of the email notice, please call the number on the back of your current card or go to Replace card. You can continue using your current card until your new card arrives.

  • I am a primary cardholder who already has additional users. Can we just keep using our current cards?
    • Yes. Your current card will continue to work for 30 days after you activate your new cards or until its expiration date, whichever comes first.
    • For your convenience, we are reissuing cards to all users on your account so you can access the new account management features, such as setting spend limits and viewing transactions for all users.
  • Who can I add as an additional user?
    • You may add anyone 13 or older as an Authorized User, and anyone 18 or older as a Joint Owner. Authorized Users can be added or removed from an account at any time. They can make purchases but do not have digital access to the account or transactions. Joint Owners have the same access as the Account Owner, they will receive statements at the account mailing address on file and share financial responsibility for paying any existing and new balances. Joint Owners cannot be removed from an account once added.
  • Can I view past transactions by user? new card(s)?
    • You'll start seeing other users' transactions in the Cardholder column once you and your additional users activate and use the reissued card.
  • How do I find out which merchants need my updated card details?
    • Some merchants may have already updated this information for you. When you receive your new card in the mail, be sure to validate your card credentials with your preferred merchants to avoid disruption.
    • Your joint account owner and/or authorized user(s) will need to update their stored cards with the new credit card information.
  • What is a spend limit?
    • A spend limit allows the account owner to control how much an Authorized User can spend, up to the account's overall credit limit.
    • The account owner can add, change, or delete a spend limit on each Authorized User's card. To add, change, or delete a spend limit: Select Card management at the top of the page, then Manage users. Then, select either Add a new user or the user's name. Complete the Spend controls section by turning on or off the spend limit option.
  • Why did my authorized user's purchase not reduce the available spend balance?
    • If your authorized user made a purchase at the end of a spend cycle, but the transaction posted in the new cycle, the available spend balance will not be affected. Some purchases may take a few days to post to the account.
    • The authorized user can exceed their spend limit in the same billing cycle if a transaction posts for more than the authorized amount. For example, imagine that a hotel authorized $100 at check-in but at check-out charged an additional $20 room fee. The $120 transaction would still process even if they already reached their spend limit.
  • Why is my authorized user's spend limit negative?
    • The spend limit may appear negative if the authorized user had a transaction post that was larger than the pending or authorized amount.
    • For example, imagine that a restaurant authorized $50 for your meal, but the $10 tip wasn't included until the transaction was complete. In this case, the $60 transaction would apply towards their available balance and may cause their spend limit to be negative if they were close to their limit.
  • Why are my name and card details missing from some old transactions?
    • Some older transactions might not show your name or card info in the "User" column.
    • For older purchases, the system might not list your details. We've made changes so that now everyone on the account has a unique card number.
  • Why are all of my account transactions being shown under one name and card number?

Your account has been migrated to help you better manage users. You’ll soon see transactions shown by the individual names and card numbers of the authorized card users on your account once their cards are activated.
