Locking and unlocking your debit card

We've made it easier to protect your Fidelity® Debit Card, and yourself, with a feature that allows you to lock and unlock your card to help prevent unauthorized use.


If your debit card has been temporarily misplaced or you're not using it, locking it will prevent new purchases, ATM withdrawals, teller advances, and cash transfers. When locked, refunds, credits, and recurring transactions to a merchant or service provider, such as subscription services, will post to your account as usual.


When to lock your debit card

Lock your card if it has been temporarily misplaced or you’re not using it. However, if you think your card is lost or stolen, or you see fraudulent activity on your account, please contact Fidelity Debit Card Services for assistance so we can send you a new card (or cards) with a new account number.


How to lock your debit card

You can lock your card in three different ways:

Select the Manage card lock button at the top of this page and follow the instructions.

Use the Fidelity mobile app to lock your card. Select your account, click the utility menu (three dots) and click the Manage debit card link.

Call the debit card Fidelity Debit Card Services number on the back of your card.

How to unlock your debit card

When your misplaced card is found or you decide to use your card again, you can easily unlock your card. You can access the Manage card lock page the same way you locked your card and click the unlock link next to the card you want to unlock.


A debit card security alert is sent to confirm the card has been unlocked. If you did not unlock the card, please contact Fidelity Debit Card Services.
