When you’re saving for retirement, target date funds can help keep it simple by managing an investment mix for you based on your time horizon, all in a single fund.

We call ours Fidelity Freedom® Funds.

Each Freedom Fund is built and managed around a target retirement year and applies an automatic asset allocation strategy that becomes more conservative over time.

more aggressive more conservative

Each Fidelity Freedom® Fund invests in a diversified mix of other Fidelity mutual funds.

The goal is to select a single fund that may achieve a diversified allocation of stocks, bonds, and short-term investments, while you are saving for, and even after you enter retirement.

Our fund managers take care of the rebalancing to help keep your portfolio on track through retirement; with the funds continuing to become more conservative during your initial retirement years.

To start researching Fidelity Freedom® Funds that may be right for you, all you need to do is tell us when you want to retire.

Move the slider to get started. It really is that simple.

Fidelity Freedom Funds are designed for investors who know the approximate year they expect to retire. To find the Freedom Fund that may be appropriate for you, start by selecting the number of years until you want to retire, then click Submit. For example, if you are 35 years old today and expect to retire in 30 years, then you would enter 30.

Once you click Submit, the Fidelity Freedom Fund managed closest to the year you entered will appear, along with its current target asset allocation. You will be able to see how the Freedom Fund's asset allocation strategy becomes more conservative by reducing its equity exposure as the fund's target date appoaches and beyond. The stated asset allocations may be subject to change.
