Coming Soon: A Simple Way to Help Us Verify Your Identity

Help us protect your Fidelity accounts

Your security is our priority. That’s why we’re introducing a new security measure. If we ever detect unusual activity on your account — such as an attempt to log in from a computer that you don’t normally use or to reset your personal identification number (PIN) — we may ask a question which only you can answer. This enhanced security helps to prevent anyone from gaining access to your accounts

What to expect and how it will work

In the near future, when you log into Fidelity.com, you’ll be prompted to sign up for this enhanced security. It’s a simple, one–time process.

You choose four questions about yourself

You select four security questions from our list, then provide the answers to them. For example, you could choose a question like “In what city was your high school?” then enter the answer. This kind of information gives us a way to identify you that someone else won’t know or be able to fake.

We ask these questions if we’re uncertain it’s you

If we see anything unusual during your log–in process — like a computer that hasn’t been used before to access your accounts - we’ll ask one of these questions to verify that it’s really you. We’ll also ask one of these questions whenever you reset your PIN. It’s an extra, but significant layer of online security.
