BOSTON – Starting today, the Fidelity App for Apple TV® is available on the all-new Apple TV, giving investors a new, convenient way to keep tabs on the markets and generate investing ideas. Fidelity is one of the first brokerage firms to offer an app for Apple TV, which owners of the new Apple TV can download on the App Store for Apple TV. Users can navigate the Apple TV app with its Siri Remote to display a variety of market data. The most useful way for users to familiarize themselves with current market data and stay up-to-date in the app is by running the Today’s Overview slideshow while they go about their day. The app allows viewers to see a running status of six key financial categories.
- Top Gainers
- Bull & Bear of the Day
- U.S. Markets
- Most Active
- Top Losers
- World Markets
"The slideshow feature is also an ideal backdrop for public spaces in businesses or companies as it allows viewers to quickly stay on top of the financial markets," said Velia M. Carboni, senior vice president of mobile channels at Fidelity. "There’s no log-in required, and with simple navigation for the large screen, the Fidelity Mobile App for Apple TV gives viewers interesting and, often times, critical market information." Users can also navigate to specific app features, including:
- Integrated live Bloomberg TV news
- Real-time market quotes for the DJIA, S&P 500 Index and NASDAQ
- Quotes and symbol lookup for stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and international markets
- A list of their most recent quotes, where it’s easy to compare quotes quickly
"Fidelity is proud to expand our lineup of Apple apps, giving millions of customers access to important market data through the convenience of their Apple TV and perhaps even help generate a new investing idea," Carboni said. Fidelity provides apps for iPhone®, iPad®, iPod® touch, Apple Watch® and now for Apple TV®.
