Fidelity's longstanding commitments to the arts, education, and the communities where we work and live aligned on June 7 as the winners of the Fidelity Investments Young Artists Competition at the Boston Pops took the stage at Boston's historic Symphony Hall. Now in its eighth year, the competition offers high school students from across Massachusetts the opportunity to advance their already considerable musical skills by auditioning for, and training and performing with, the Boston Pops, widely regarded as "America's Orchestra."
"The Fidelity competition helps to showcase young talent who are on the brink of doing something great and gives these kids a way to build a stronger sense of themselves," said maestro Keith Lockhart, conductor of the Pops. This year's winners, selected from a large pool of applicants as diverse as the musical genres they represented, came away from the experience inspired to reach even higher. Watch the video to see how developing their musical talents helps prepare each of these young artists for success, both on and off the stage.
