Fidelity^® Extends Leadership in Mobile Space With Next Generation Brokerage App for iPad^®

Updated iPad App Presents a Visual Story of the Market, Helping Investors and Traders Stay Connected to Their Portfolios and Positions in Today's Highly Volatile Markets

BOSTON – Fidelity Investments® today advanced its position as the highest rated online broker with the release of a major update to its Fidelity Investments for iPad® app, now available for free on the App Store. The app’s new features include world market performance and news; advanced, interactive charting; and investor trends and ideas. Additionally, the app has been enhanced visually with elements such as heat mapping to indicate price movement in a portfolio, and an interactive “click wheel” tool for account balances.

“Fidelity has been a leading innovator in mobile trading and investing for more than a decade, and we remain committed to giving investors the best mobile tools available,” said Richard Blunck, executive vice president, digital distribution at Fidelity. “Given the rapid adoption of tablet computing in the last year and a half, it became especially important for Fidelity to extend its leadership position by evolving our iPad app to take full advantage of this mobile platform.”

According to a recent Pew Research Center^® reportⁱⁱ, 11 percent of U.S. adults (approximately 25 million individualsⁱⁱⁱ) now own a tablet computer. In fact, one third of all log-ins across Fidelity’s native mobile applications now come from an iPad^iv.

Industry Leading World Market Performance and News
The home screen of Fidelity’s updated iPad app now features a world map with quotes for all the key equity market indices. Investors can quickly assess how the markets are doing via the color-coded arrows (green and red) showing positive or negative movement, with index details just a tap away, and eligible investors can turn on real-time streaming quotes, watchlists and news for a more timely experience^v.

Current news stories appear on the app’s main news page and also when investors pull up a watchlist or individual position. News content is provided by Thomson Reuters, MarketWatch, Kiplinger, CNNMoney.com and TheStreet.com. And, for the first time in a mobile financial app, contextual video is available, as well as scheduled video content (pre- and post-market reports). Videos are provided by Thomson Reuters.

Additionally, investors can add RSS feeds from external Web sites to their news page, giving them a one-source destination for market news and personal topics.

Advanced Charting
The app’s new charting features give investors new ways to conduct mobile technical research. There are 10 popular technical indicators that can be overlaid on the charts, including moving average convergence/divergence (MACD) and the relative strength index (RSI). Three charts can be displayed on-screen at once, and are customizable for color, chart style (mountain, candlestick and high-low) and timeframe (pinch and zoom).

Investor Trends and Ideas
For investors who wish to conduct further research, Fidelity provides independent, third-party content, including the Bull and Bear of the Day from Zacks Investment Research, Recognia^® AlertWire^TM, FirstRain News Content, Econoday^® Calendars and Market Movers. They also can generate investing ideas by viewing what stocks Fidelity customers are trading most throughout the day.

In addition to Fidelity’s updated iPad app, investors can research and trade stocks, options, ETFs and mutual funds through the Fidelity Investments App for iPhone® and iPod touch^®, as well as through its Android^TM app and Fidelity Mobile®for other smartphones such as BlackBerry^®. Fidelity soon will launch new iPad apps for clients of its custody and clearing units.
