Fidelity Investments® Significantly Expands Spartan® Equity Index Line-Up With Five New Funds

Also Adds Low-Cost Institutional Share Classes to Three Existing Index Funds

BOSTON -- Fidelity Investments®, a leading global asset management firm, today announced it significantly expanded its Spartan® equity index mutual fund line-up with the launch of five new low-cost fundsi : Spartan Emerging Markets Index Fund, Spartan Global ex U.S. Index Fund, Spartan Mid Cap Index Fund, Spartan Real Estate Index Fund and Spartan Small Cap Index Fund. Each new fund will be offered with multiple share classes at very competitive prices.

With the launch of its five new funds, Fidelity now offers investors and retirement plan sponsors access to 13 equity and bond Spartan index funds across the major investment categories, with total assets under management of more than $80 billion.ii

Fidelity also added low-cost institutional share classes to three existing Spartan Index Funds: Spartan Total Market Index Fund, Spartan Extended Market Index Fund and Spartan International Index Fund. This is in addition to the new low-cost institutional share classes launched in May 2011 for the Spartan 500 Index Fund and Spartan U.S. Bond Index Fund.

New Equity Index Funds Broaden Investment Categories
Seeking to provide investment results that correspond to the performance of their respective market benchmarks, the five new equity index funds are:

• Spartan Emerging Markets Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of emerging stock markets, as represented by the FTSE® Emerging Index.1

• Spartan Global ex U.S. Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of foreign developed and emerging stock markets, as represented by the MSCI ACWI (All Country World Index) ex USA Index.2

• Spartan Mid Cap Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of stocks of mid-capitalization United States companies, as represented by the Russell Midcap® Index.3

• Spartan Real Estate Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of equity REITs and other real estate-related investments, as represented by the Dow Jones U.S. Select Real Estate Securities IndexSM.4

• Spartan Small Cap Index Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of stocks of small capitalization United States companies, as represented by the Russell 2000® Index.5

Competitive Pricing and Various Share Classes Benefit Plan Sponsors
In order to ensure appropriate investment options for both retail investors and plan sponsors and their participants, each new fund is offered with multiple share classes at very competitive prices. The Investor class and Fidelity Advantage® class are available to retail investors and also may be available through certain retirement plans. The Institutional class and Fidelity Advantage Institutional class are available exclusively to employer-sponsored retirement plans recordkept by Fidelity Workplace Investing.

Institutional Share Classes Added to Three Existing Spartan Index Funds
Fidelity also added low-cost institutional share classes to three existing funds: Spartan Total Market Index Fund, Spartan Extended Market Index Fund and Spartan International Index Fund. Adding the institutional share classes creates even lower-fee index fund alternatives for Fidelity plan sponsor clients and their participants.
